hollow commune — for now…
Born to a Hopi tribe on the reservation in Arizona, Nova was always considered special by her family. The only great granddaughter to one of the most respected elders in her village, she was coveted by her great grandfather since she first opened her eyes. It wasn't until her fifth year that another exceptional trait was discovered: she was mute. What most would consider a misfortune, her people saw as a gift. It was then that it was decided that her great grandfather would take her under his tutelage in what would later provide her with a means to become one with the nature her people so loved.
Upon her great grandfather's death, he instructed her to find kyose aoyagi using riddles that left her at the doorsteps of Hollow Commune. She is hesitant about its residents and more or less unsure of her great grandfather's wishes.
Preternatural Repertoire
- "Call of the Wild" - Her animal nature allows her to call out to other creatures with her spirit to aid her in times of despair. Notably, however, the concentration that is necessary for this process makes it a difficult task to perform in highly stressful situations.
- "Dream Whisperer" - Being unable to speak has its disadvantages, to be sure. Nova can, on occasion, overcome this hardship through a gift from her Hopi ancestors called Dream Whispering. She is capable of more or less invading the dream states of others to impart important information to them. This action requires close contact and cannot be used over lengthy distances.
- "Animal Instincts" - Nova's relationship to the animals whose spirits she links herself to have binded certain aspects to her human skin. She has, over the years, developed heightened senses that allow her a marginally faster reaction time and acute awareness to her surroundings. It should be said, she cannot break through any mystical barriers that might surround an area from said keen senses.
- "Medium" - Given the ability to remove her spirit from her body, it isn't at all an infrequent occurrence for Nova's body to be taken over by spirits through possession. She has, twice in her life, had to have evil spirits banished from her natural form using a Hopi Tribal Ritual.
